Village Dolni Moravice

Dolní Moravice The first mention of the village Dolni Moravice dates back to 1258, when it belonged to the estate Sovinec. Residents of Dolni Moravice were engaged in agriculture and manufacturing work. A saw-mill and papermill were built here in 1710. The first mention of a school dates to 1599. In 1949 the village became part of Horni Moravice and in 1961 part of Nova Ves, originaly a mining town founded in 1604. The village lies in the protected landscape area Jeseniky.

Boardinghouse MIA

Penzion Mia The house is situated near a football pitch, volleyball pitch and a playground, newly-made ski slope with four-chair lift, 900 m away MIA, with night lighting and artificial snow. In February 2008 a ski slope with a four-chair lift was opened 900 m away from MIA. In the village you will find a groceries store and a restaurant which offers hot and cold dishes.

Winter activities

Zimní aktivity In the surroudings you can find approximately 20 lifts of various lengths and difficulty. Some lifts are equipped with night lighting, artificial snow and ski kindergarden for the youngest.

Summer activities

Letní aktivity You can go hiking, biking, horse riding, play squash, bowling, ninepins or go on ropes courses. You can go swimming in the dam Silesian Harta (approx. 20 km away), play water sports or go fishing. Outdoor swimming pool can be found in Bruntal and indoor swimming pool in Karlova Studanka. Also there is a thermal pool available at the spa Velke Losiny. You can play tennis in the Bruntal tennis club which has five clay courts. There is a bowling alley, ninepins and squash courts in Bruntal.

Rozcestí Hvezda

Rozcestí hvězda You can park your car in the large car park at Hvezda and start hiking following the many tourist tracks or use ski slopes for skiing or go cross country skiing. There is a bus that can take you from the car park at Hvezda to the highest mountain in Moravia and Silesia called Praded (1492 m.n.m.), where the largest ski centre Praded – Ovcarna, with 7 ski lifts, ski rental and other sports equipment can be found. On your skis you can ski to the hut Svycarna or Cervenohorske sedlo. In summer you can go for a walk to Serak, pass Peter´s stones and Jeleni spring to Skritek.

Mala Moravka

Malá Morávka Mala Moravka itself has 3 ski lifts, suitable for the beginners, in Karlov there are more than 10 lifts of different lengths and difficulty. In the summer you can wander through the magical countryside, e.g. to the spa town Karlova Studanka.

Karlova Studanka

Karlova Studánka Karlova Studanka is a modern and unique spa resort. Its spa is almost two-hundred years old. Thanks to its strategic location in the middle of the Jeseniky mountains the spa has a unique therapeutic climate. Mineral water and natural carbon dioxide obtained from the depth of 127 m are among the natural medicinal resources. Karlova Studanka has about 250 inhabitants however the population is boosted by the number of patients and tourists who come to visit Karlova Studanka to undergo a treatment or just to relax.

You can also visit glassworks Jakub, where are hand made the replicas of the historical glass. The glassworks Jakub is in the Vrbno under Praděd.

The Jeseniky mountains are visited by thousands of Czech and foreign tourists every year. The mountains are seaked for their beautiful scenery with many natural reserves.
